Things to See and Do at Christmas Tree Place

For many families, choosing the Christmas tree is the moment Christmas really begins.

At Christmas Tree Place, near Berkhamsted, we’ve been growing and selling real Christmas trees since 1989. Over the years, we’ve added a few things for families to discover while they’re here.

There’s no admission charge, and all the little extras are free. You can simply come along, take your time choosing your tree and enjoy looking around.

Choosing Your Christmas Tree

The main reason to visit us is, of course, the trees.

We have a huge selection of real Christmas trees, including Nordmann fir and Norway spruce, in sizes from 2ft to 15ft and a choice of quality grades.

Whether you’re looking for a small tree for a cosy corner or something rather more impressive, there’s plenty to choose from.

For children, helping to find the family’s Christmas tree can become a tradition they remember for years.

Our Vintage Red Tractors

You’ll find some old red tractors around the farm.

They’re a reminder of our farming roots and have become a favourite with younger visitors, as well as a few older ones who remember tractors like these from years gone by.

They’re also a popular spot for family photographs.

The Secret Walk

One of the more unusual things to discover at Christmas Tree Place is our Secret Walk.

It begins through a set of wardrobe doors. What lies beyond is something we’d rather leave you to discover for yourselves.

It’s a little extra we’ve created for families to enjoy while visiting the farm, and there’s no additional charge.

The Illuminated Toy workshop

Another favourite is our illuminated toy workshop, with its Christmas displays and festive details.

It’s something to stop and look at while you’re here, especially for children.

It’s not a Santa’s grotto or a bookable attraction — just another little part of Christmas Tree Place that we hope adds to your visit.

 A View Across the Farm

Our viewing platform gives visitors a chance to look out across the Christmas tree farm.

It’s easy to forget, when you see a Christmas tree standing in someone’s living room, that it has taken years of growing and looking after to reach that point.

The view gives you a better idea of what goes into producing real Christmas trees.

A Christmas Outing Without the Fuss

We know that for some families, buying the Christmas tree is a quick job. For others, it’s something they look forward to doing together every year.

Both are absolutely fine with us.

There’s no entrance fee, no need to book and no pressure to turn your visit into a big day out. You can choose your tree, have a look around and stay for as long as suits you.

We think that’s part of the appeal.

Worth the Journey

We’re near Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, and welcome families from St Albans, Harpenden, Hemel Hempstead, Tring, Watford, Aylebsury  and further afield.

Many visitors tell us they hadn’t realised there was such a substantial Christmas tree farm so close to home.

If you’re looking for a real Christmas tree and would like choosing it to feel like a little more of an occasion, we’d be delighted to see you.
