Keeping traditions, making memories!

Taylor Swift was born on 13 December 1989 and grew up on a Christmas tree farm.

By coincidence, John sold our first Christmas trees from Conkers, our parents' family home, just a few days before Taylor was born.

Our paths have diverged somewhat since then.  Taylor became Taylor Swift, we stuck with the trees.

All these years later Christmas Tree Place, Berkhamsted is still very much a family affair.

So much more than just choosing a tree

For us, the annual trip to choose your Christmas tree should be part of Christmas itself .

Over the years we've kept adding to the experience - the farm atmosphere, vintage tractors, animated Christmas characters, our viewing platform, Christmas shop and plenty of places for family photographs.

Some things have been here for years.  Others are new.  Together, they make a trip to Christmas Tree Place, Berkhamsted so much more than simply buying a tree.

Fresh trees.  Remarkably good value.

We grow our own Christmas trees and harvest exceptionally late, continuing to cut throughout the selling season.

For most of the trees sold at Berkhamsted, the journey from where they were growing to our retail area is measured in metres, not miles.  The rest come from one of our two other farms both within 3 miles of Berkhamsted.

With a huge choice of sizes, shapes, grades and prices, we believe a really good Christmas tree should offer remarkably good value.

Christmas Tree Place after dark

When daylight disappears, the farm takes on a completely different atmosphere.

Our sales area and huge car park are fully floodlit and, during our busiest period, we stay open late on selected weekdays.

So you can come and choose your tree after work rather than sacrificing a precious December weekend.

Christmas Tree Place looks rather special with the lights on!

There's a Secret at Christmas Tree Place...

It starts with a wardrobe.

Push through and you'll find our Secret Trail - a short, free Christmas diversion winding through a small area of growing Christmas trees.

Beyond that, we're keeping quiet. We've put a lot of thought into what happens next, but some things are better discovered when you get here.

We get our Christmas tree here every year and are never disappointed! The staff are lovely, the trees last for ages and they are such good prices for the quality. This year we went in, one of the lovely employees came and asked us what type of tree we were looking for so we described it to him and he went rummaging through the piles of trees and produced the most perfect tree - honestly he was like a Christmas tree whisperer!

Every year, we save part of the trunk and create pyrography designs in them so that we can remember all our lovely tree! 5/5
